Excerpts:
Even Deep Throat has Madison ties
Does Harry Brandon, the guy who's being drawn on by media as an expert on the W. Mark Felt admission of being Deep Throat, look familiar? He's been everywhere from the BBC to NewsHour.
Brandon headed the Madison FBI office in the mid-1980s for two years, shaking things up by hiring women and people of color, answering media questions and being hailed by then Madison Police Chief David Couper as "a new breed of the FBI."
Brandon told the Washington Post that he recalls making a presentation to Felt as a young agent. "He was a tough guy," said Brandon. "Straight. Very straight."
